Students Against Methamphetamine
Character Contest
We decided to sponsor a poster contest for all the grades 5-8, public and
parochial, in Farmington, which involves approximates 1,000 students. We
wanted the contest to require knowledge in advance of the dangers of
methamphetamine. To make sure the focus remained that we were students
against methamphetamine, we decided first to sponsor a character for the
poster contest. So, within our school we challenged our peers, grades 4-8, to
create a living symbol for "Students Against Methamphetamine." The
following photos are the entries for the character contest beginning with the
winning entry by Ian Powers, 4th grade.
