Rick Wisdom is the owner of Music Makers, where all ages can come in and learn.
Rick says what inspired him to open Music Makers is because he has been in retailing his whole life. He was a Wal-Mart store manager for 10 years. Music Makers has been open for 9 years now. Rick played two instruments in high school and in college; they were the drums and the guitar. Rick got a scholarship in 1977-1980 at Mineral Area College. Rick now plays the drums, guitar, mandolin, fiddle, and the indian flute. Rick was in a very lively band called the Cypress Band. They played from 1974 to 1979.

In 2000, Rick decided to open up Music Makers Academy for all ages. At Music Makers they have 200 to 300 hundred musicians a week! Music Makers is a big help to people who need to be funded. They sponsor The St. Louis Symphony, Country Days, various bands, Fall Festival, Guitar Hero Showdowns, and various nursing homes. Although opening the store was a lot of work, Rick says he enjoyed it very much.
