We hosted two events to raise money for music scholarships: a competition using Play Station 2's "Guitar Hero III" and a Christian rock music concert featuring the band Parallax View. Both of these events were very successful and made it possible for us to offer the scholarships for area students. At each of the links below, you can hear the radio spots we did with Mark Toti, the host, to promote our events to the community at J98 Radio Station in Farmington, as well as videos and photos. Our goal was to raise $1,000 to provide 100 free music lessons (2 months of lessons per student) to area students, ages 8-18. We met that goal. Working with Music Makers, we set up a scholarship fund and required applicants to write about why they felt they should receive a scholarship. Students will be chosen by a committee based by greatest need. Scholarship Application |
Music usually lights up a room. If you go into a room with a lot of grumpy people you could bring in a juke box and they would probably be a lot happier. |
