FIELD TRIPS

We took 4 field trips this year. These trips consisted of visits to the Recycling Day Expo in St. Louis, the SFCEC (St. Francois County Environmental Corporation), a trip to choose the best site for the future recycling facility and a evening visit to Farmington City Council's meeting.

At the Recycling Day Expo in St. Louis' City Hall, we viewed many booths about the recycling programs available in the St. Louis area and even throughout Missouri. At the SFCEC field trip, we were given a tour of the facility by Mr. Allen AuBuchonn. We were shown what they recycle, how they recycle it, where they recycle it and the old landfill. During the site trip, we visited the possible sites for a recycling facility in Farmington. Mr. Greg Beavers, Farmington City Administrator, gave us information about the two possible locations and where we would place the containers and signs. When we visited the Farmington City Council meeting, we made an introductory speech to the council and presented a PowerPoint slideshow about our project.
